Global fintech company Deriv has announced the opening of its second office in Cyprus, establishing a new innovation hub in Nicosia. The move aims to bolster the company’s European presence while focusing on cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced trading solutions.
With a track record spanning 25 years and operations in 20 global locations, Deriv has chosen Nicosia as a strategic base to enhance its technological capabilities. The new office, located on the 12th floor of the Asteroid building in the capital, is set to open in mid-December.
A Strategic Hub for Growth and Innovation
“Cyprus has become a key center for the online trading industry, and Nicosia stands out as a thriving hub for technology and innovation,” said Rakshit Choudhary, Co-CEO of Deriv. “By expanding here, we can leverage the dynamic ecosystem and tap into a strong pool of talented professionals.”
The Nicosia office will serve as a technology development center, focusing on AI, data analytics, and advanced programming. It features collaborative spaces, modern workstations, and meeting rooms, creating an environment conducive to innovation and growth.
Career Opportunities for Tech Enthusiasts
Headed by Andreas Potamitis, the Nicosia office aims to attract professionals looking to advance their careers in a fast-paced fintech environment. “We want to provide opportunities for forward-thinking individuals who are passionate about driving innovation,” Potamitis shared. “At Deriv, professionals can work on sophisticated projects and AI-driven trading platforms while enjoying a better work-life balance.”
Deriv is actively recruiting for key roles, including Trading Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and Low Code/No Code Developers. Recognized for its workplace culture with a Platinum accreditation from Investors in People, the company offers a supportive and growth-driven environment for employees.
As part of its hiring initiative, Deriv participated in the IMH Career Fair in December 2024, where job seekers had the chance to explore openings and engage with the company’s leadership team.
Strengthening the European Footprint
Deriv’s decision to expand in Cyprus aligns with its strategy to access top-tier local talent and enhance its technological capabilities. The company, which serves over 2.5 million traders worldwide, continues to innovate, offering a wide range of trading solutions across more than 200 assets.
The opening of the Nicosia office comes on the heels of Deriv’s recent advancements, including the launch of Tactical Indices, a feature designed to simplify trading by removing the need for manual rebalancing.
With this new expansion, Deriv reinforces its commitment to driving fintech innovation and strengthening its presence across Europe.
