Upvest, a Berlin-based provider of investment infrastructure technology, has successfully raised €100 million in a Series C funding round. The company, which powers investment services for major platforms such as Revolut, N26, Plum, and bunq, processes over one million trades per week and serves more than 50 million users across Europe.
Scaling Operations and Expanding Reach
With the new funding, Upvest plans to accelerate its expansion in the UK and other markets, enhance its product offerings, and broaden its investment infrastructure to include derivatives, bonds, and other localized solutions like ISA and PEA pension wrappers. The company also aims to double its workforce of 170 employees and further develop its technology to meet growing demand for goal-based, tax-efficient investment solutions.
A New Standard for Investment Infrastructure
Martin Kassing, CEO and Co-Founder of Upvest, highlighted the company’s vision: “With this capital, we will enter new markets, build innovative products faster, and continue setting a new standard in investment infrastructure that empowers fintechs and financial institutions alike.”
In 2024, Upvest saw a 25% monthly growth in transaction volumes, processing over 20 million orders. The platform recently added clients like bunq, which introduced stock trading, and N26, which integrated ETFs into its offerings.
Strategic Backing and Future Developments
The funding round, led by Hedosophia with participation from Sapphire Ventures, BlackRock, Bessemer Venture Partners, and other prominent investors, reflects strong confidence in Upvest’s leadership in European investment technology. Andreas Weiskam, Partner at Sapphire Ventures, noted, “Upvest has already established itself as a leader in European investment infrastructure, and we are thrilled to support their growth as they make investing as seamless as spending.”
Upvest’s roadmap includes the enhancement of its smart portfolio engine to support scalable, personalized investment strategies, further cementing its role as a key player in the European fintech ecosystem.
