The popular fintech company, Robinhood, has entered into a significant sponsorship agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies, becoming the official jersey patch partner for the NBA team. The partnership, beginning in the 2024–25 season, will see Robinhood’s branding featured prominently on the Grizzlies’ jerseys. Additionally, the company’s presence will extend throughout the Grizzlies’ ecosystem, including baseline advertisements, social media, and televised broadcasts.
A Partnership Focused on Innovation and Community
Ted Roberts, Vice President of Partnership Marketing for the Memphis Grizzlies, expressed enthusiasm for the deal, stating: “We’re thrilled to welcome Robinhood, a leader in financial services, as our official jersey and investment partner. Both the Grizzlies and Robinhood share a commitment to innovation and challenging the status quo, making this collaboration a perfect fit for our organization and fan base.”
The partnership between the two organizations goes beyond basketball and financial services. Robinhood and the Grizzlies are working together on community initiatives to benefit the Memphis area. As part of the launch, employees from both organizations took part in a community event, “Grizz Take Action Day of Service,” in partnership with Meals of Hope. During this event, 60,000 meals were packaged and distributed to support those in need within the Memphis community.
Expanding Robinhood’s Presence in the NBA
Michael Goodbody, Robinhood’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, noted that the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of making investing more accessible to a new generation. “At Robinhood, we see the same Grit and Grind spirit in our customers as we do in the Memphis Grizzlies, which makes this partnership a natural fit. We’re excited to expand our presence in the NBA and bring our brand into some of the most iconic arenas across the country,” he said.
This deal with the Grizzlies marks another major move by Robinhood into the world of professional basketball. In 2023, Robinhood secured a similar sponsorship with the Washington Wizards, becoming their official brokerage and jersey patch partner. That agreement included placing the Robinhood logo on the Wizards’ uniforms through the 2025–26 NBA season.
Robinhood has also broadened its reach within the sports and entertainment industries by partnering with KLUTCH Sports Group. KLUTCH’s Property Sales division is managing Robinhood’s strategic partnerships in these sectors, helping the company further establish itself in the world of sports marketing.
