MetaQuotes has announced it will discontinue support for older versions of its MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms starting December 1. Users must upgrade to specific versions to continue accessing broker servers without disruption.
Minimum Supported Versions
For MetaTrader 4, the minimum supported version will be build 1420, released on May 24, 2024. MetaTrader 5 users will need build 4410, which was released on June 21, 2024, to remain connected.
Focus on Performance and Security
MetaQuotes warned that users who do not update their platforms by the deadline will face disconnection from broker servers. The company emphasized that the new versions bring critical performance improvements, enhanced security features, and additional tools designed to offer a better trading experience.
MetaTrader 5 has seen a series of updates in recent months, particularly for its desktop and web platforms. These updates introduced new features such as crosshair mode and customizable Market Watch, aimed at enhancing user experience and performance. MetaTrader 4 has also received upgrades, though the focus remains primarily on bolstering security and performance.
New Features and Tools
MetaTrader 5 continues to evolve, with its beta build 4330, launched in May, introducing new analytical tools for traders and resources for developers. For example, traders can now access advanced tools like a ruler to measure time and prices, and developers can utilize the latest GPT-4o model from ChatGPT for various functions.
Other improvements include enhanced precision in displaying calculation prices, bug fixes related to trading reports, and optimized economic calendar settings.
MetaQuotes strongly encourages users to update their platforms as the newer versions provide significant improvements in performance and security, ensuring a smoother and safer trading experience.
